About the Artist I'm a creative person in a lot of ways. Through my stories, poems, and art different emotions pour through. Life and those things around me are big influences. My younger days produced the beginnings of the artist and the writer. got my hands on what seemed to be anything creative whether it be drawing, making jewelry (from kits), potholders, etc. Come high school some didn't know that I was an artist and I didn't consider myself one then. I was also writing in composition books but never could finish my stories that I started. As those high school days ended and college rounded the corner, folks thought graphic design as a major, and my flute teacher, art education. My teacher was right that's what I ended up doing. My first college art teacher was a big influence on me, as the one who really encouraged me to major in art and I won't forget her for that either. In college my creativity flourished in drawing, painting, and the discovery that there was a poet in me. Also tried the performance art "medium" (tough but I survived) and photography. Some beautiful pictures were produced and one of a gazebo I won't soon forget. Taken on 9/11 before I knew of the tragedies that had befallen the nation. With the college days at an end my writing has taken on a life of it's own. Poems pour out feelings, a lot for crushes. There's also Michaela & Sully's courtship series which has flourished since the first story was written. I had plans to write an Engagement Series for Michaela and Sully, but sadly only one story was written for it. Maybe someday I'll go back to writing stories. Paintings have resorted themselves to watercolors as working with oils is quite messy. On occasion I'll do some graphic designs for my own pleasure or to add here for the site. ~Sarah~ © Copyright 2004-2011 |
